We were looking for a place to eat before the INK show at The Admiral . I googled everything within walking distance and decided on Tixteco. Super happy I did! Chips and choice of Salsas to start. My husband ordered Coffee and it came in a cool clay mug. He decided on 2 Traditional Tacos, the Carne Asada and Chivo (Goat). He gets excited when he finds things like that on the menu. He wasn't overly hungry but they disappeared quickly! I also went with 2 Tacos both with Tilapia as my protein. One Traditional with Onions and Cilantro, One Americano with Lettuce, Cheese, Tomato, Guac, and Sour Cream. I liked both! The highlight for me was the Quesadilla Masa, it was made with a fresh soft corn tortilla and stuffed with gooey cheese. You can choose any Meat or Mushrooms or Poblanos like I got. I am Not Lying when I say I could eat that Every Day!!! The place is small but welcoming. Staff was very friendly and kind. Food took a little bit but was worth the wait. We were running late so we didn't get a chance to try a yummy Marg which looked delicious! Next time...

From my own visits, I can attest that the menu offers a wide variety of options that reflect true Mexican culinary traditions. Their tacos are a standout-soft, warm tortillas filled with perfectly seasoned meats, topped with fresh cilantro and onions. I tried the carne asada taco, and the flavor balance was exceptional, showcasing careful marination and precise grilling techniques. Unlike many chain restaurants, every bite felt handcrafted, revealing the kitchenβs attention to detail and dedication to quality.
One method that Tixteco excels in is their use of fresh ingredients sourced locally whenever possible. Vegetables are crisp, meats are tender, and their salsas, whether mild or fiery, add depth to each dish without overwhelming the palate. During one visit, I watched the chefs prepare enchiladas with care, layering handmade tortillas with rich sauces and fresh cheese-an approach that reminded me of authentic culinary practices in Mexico City, rather than mass-produced meals often found elsewhere.

Googled margaritas in downtown Omaha and found this very worthy highly-rated gem! Great tacos and the fresh-juice tamarind margarita was absolutely fantastic. Met the owner and felt like I was family! Must go.
Awesome establishment. Menu is diverse but not overwhelming, everything is super tasty and made fresh - they even grow their own peppers. Price is very reasonable. Decor is simple but charming with a homey atmosphere. Everyone is so incredibly friendly and just makes dining in an absolute pleasure. Highly recommend.
BEST FOOD IF YOU LOOKING FOR AN MEXICAN FOOD FRESH MADE AND GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE
Just stumbled on this place walking back from the supermercado and was really impressed. Cute patio area pulled us in and when the owner told us that all of their margaritas are made from scratch we couldn't resist. We tried the original lime, tamarind, and mango and they were all excellent. We had to try the food so we ordered the mole chicken and it was the best mole sauce I've ever had. Not too sweet and really nice spice. Definitely going back!
Good authentic food here. I had the taco plate and a chili relleno to go. It was packaged well. Included rice, beans, red and green sauce. The green has some kick! The tacos were chicken, beef and barbacoa was my favorite. The chicken didn't have much flavor. When I go back I'll get barbacoa for sure!
Check out the photos, need I say more? My favorite Mexican restaurant. Great food, family owned and operated, scratch made margaritas. Super great fresh fruit and vegetable juices!
Moving to Omaha from San Diego and was worried about finding good Mexican restaurants. So glad to have found this place in our neighborhood. Really good and authentic food, margaritas were excellent, and owner is very friendly. highly recommend this spot.
